Senior Product Software Engineer

Wolters Kluwer•Coppell, TX
•$92,700 - $161,850

About The Position

The Senior Product Software Engineer designs, builds, and operates business-critical customer and internal applications. This hands-on, full-stack role owns complex and sometimes ambiguous problems from initial product intent through specification, architecture, implementation, validation, deployment, and production operation. The engineer applies Agentic Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Agentic Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) practices to improve delivery speed, quality, traceability, and engineering effectiveness. The role uses AI engineering agents as disciplined participants in development while maintaining human oversight, architectural integrity, security, and accountability. The position calls for expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, APIs, databases, Microsoft Azure, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development, along with product thinking, ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to improve the effectiveness of other engineers. Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office during recruitment. Interviews include in-person participation, and candidates are asked not to use AI tools or external prompts during interviews.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including the ability to independently deliver complex, business-critical applications from design through production.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Agentic Spec-Driven Development, using specifications and AI agents to drive software design, development, testing, validation, and delivery.
  • Strong full-stack development expertise with C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, REST APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of modern application architecture and engineering practices, including API-first design, microservices/distributed systems, design patterns, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development.
  • Ability to solve complex and ambiguous engineering problems, make sound technical trade-offs, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Ability to elevate other engineers' effectiveness through technical leadership, reusable solutions, automation, engineering standards, mentoring, and high-quality design and code reviews.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and delivering Agentic AI or Generative AI capabilities, such as workflow automation, information extraction, document processing, intelligent assistance, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Experience applying Agentic Product Development Lifecycle practices across multiple stages of product development.
  • Master's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Own product capabilities end-to-end, from problem definition and specification through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, production validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Apply Agentic Spec-Driven Development and Agentic Product Development Lifecycle practices to turn product intent into executable specifications and use AI agents throughout design, development, testing, review, and delivery, with validation and human oversight.
  • Design and deliver full-stack solutions spanning Angular/TypeScript user experiences, C#/.NET services, REST APIs, integrations, relational and NoSQL databases, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Make engineering and architectural decisions that balance speed, security, scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Independently solve ambiguous technical problems, diagnose production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Improve the broader engineering team's effectiveness through reusable components, patterns, automation, engineering practices, mentoring, design reviews, and high-quality code reviews.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Operations, and Security to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs.
  • Take ownership and accountability for outcomes, proactively addressing technical risks, delivery bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve engineering quality and productivity.
