Software Engineer: Product

Generalist•Somerville, MA
•$200,000 - $350,000

About The Position

Generalist is building embodied foundation models, beginning with dexterity, to help robots intelligently interact with the physical world. The company combines AI and robotics expertise to advance data, models, and hardware. This is a customer-facing product engineering role with many product-management-like responsibilities. The engineer will build applications used by customers, deployment partners, researchers, and internal teams to diagnose, teach, quality-assure, and operate robots. About one quarter of the role involves working with customers to understand their use cases and distill product requirements, followed by implementing product ideas. The product spans web user interfaces, APIs, hardware appliances, robot interfaces, and human processes. The engineer will work across the stack, crafting interfaces for accessing Generalist systems and building tools and workflows that support researchers, engineers, and operations partners. A key product is the web application researchers, operations teams, and deployment teams use to evaluate and train robot models.
