Staff Engineer, Product Software

Equinix•Redwood City, CA

About The Position

The Staff Engineer for the daVinci Network Observability team serves as the lead technical authority for designing and implementing Equinix’s global telemetry fabric. The role connects high-scale distributed software with global network hardware and drives complex, data-intensive initiatives. It owns the technical integrity of streaming pipelines, ensuring telemetry from the global fleet is ingested, normalized, and processed with sub-second latency. As a specialist in software patterns and high-throughput systems, this engineer drives technical excellence within the Network Platform Engineering group. The position translates architectural blueprints into automation strategies and scalable infrastructure, drives engineering milestones aligned with the long-term NPE vision, and leads complex system implementations for real-time streaming telemetry and high-performance databases. It also translates product requirements into technical specifications, defines service-level metrics, supports global ITIL compliance, and leads root-cause analysis and resolution of cross-platform outages. The role evaluates emerging technologies, including Model-Driven Telemetry, and establishes practices for proving concepts and managing change.
