About The Position

As a Staff Product Engineer on the Hi-Reliability team, you will use in-depth technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve complex engineering issues and guide new ICs through the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle. You will work across disciplines and collaborate with contacts in IC design, test, reliability, packaging, radiation effects, and manufacturing. The role involves determining methods and procedures for new characterization and qualification assignments, evaluating variable factors independently, and identifying best practices for high-quality, manufacturable semiconductor solutions. You will contribute to product engineering milestones and NPI schedules, validate electrical performance across environmental conditions, investigate yield, reliability, and manufacturability issues, and interpret characterization, test, and production data. You will partner with Test Engineering on ATE strategies, bench-to-ATE correlation, and test coverage. The position also involves communicating technical findings and risks, advising colleagues, mentoring less-experienced engineers, and completing assignments independently, with management guidance reserved for the most complex situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience executing new product development within the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong semiconductor or IC experience.
  • Experience with Product Engineering and semiconductor new product introduction (NPI).
  • Experience with IC characterization and evaluation of product performance.
  • Strong data analysis capability, including interpretation of characterization, test, yield, production, or other semiconductor product data.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with high-reliability, space-grade, or radiation-hardened semiconductor products and qualification standards such as MIL-PRF-38535.
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms such as Advantest V93K or Teradyne ETS-64/UltraFLEX, and bench-to-ATE correlation.
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools such as JMP, Spotfire, or Python.
  • Technical domain background in analog, mixed-signal, or power management ICs.
  • Experience mentoring early-career engineers or acting as a task lead within a product team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical focal point and key technical contributor for Product Engineering tasks to achieve critical project milestones and NPI schedule targets.
  • Determine methods and procedures for new characterization assignments, including electrical validation and performance evaluations across environmental conditions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex yield, reliability, and manufacturability issues through in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Select methods, adapt complex analytical techniques, and establish evaluation criteria to interpret characterization, test, and production data.
  • Collaborate with contacts across Design, Test, Packaging, Quality, Reliability, and Foundry Operations to drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with Test Engineering on ATE test strategies, bench-to-ATE correlation, and test coverage optimization.
  • Identify and develop departmental best practices for high-quality and effective engineering solutions.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and risk assessments in support of wider business targets, adapting communication style and using persuasion as needed.
  • Advise colleagues on complex technical matters and mentor less-experienced engineers.
  • Complete engineering assignments independently, seeking management guidance only in the most complex situations.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits package alongside salary; further information will be provided during the hiring process.
