Senior Product Manager, MyLodgeTax

Avalara•Seattle, WA

About The Position

Avalara’s Micro and Emerging Business team helps small businesses manage tax compliance. MyLodgeTax supports short-term rental hosts by registering them with applicable jurisdictions, filing lodging tax returns, and helping them remain compliant. The Senior Product Manager will own the product end-to-end and help make its established, revenue-generating services faster, simpler, and more self-serve. The role is based out of Avalara’s Seattle office and reports to the Head of Product, Micro and Emerging Business. The Product Manager will set the MyLodgeTax vision, strategy, and roadmap; improve the customer journey from discovery through first successful filing; and lead automation of manual, rules-heavy operational workflows. The role works closely with registration operations, Business Development, Growth, engineering, front-end, UX, and other product managers. The team ships on weekly release cycles using Avalara’s shared tax platform. Avalara describes itself as an AI-first company. The role requires embracing AI in daily work, applying it to business challenges, and staying curious about emerging practices. The successful candidate will contribute to efficient, innovative, and scalable solutions, including potentially using AI to automate document-heavy or rules-based processes.
