About The Position

Healthie is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own how healthcare organizations get paid by insurers. The role focuses on building a system where billing serves care delivery, allowing practices to manage the entire financial lifecycle of a visit within Healthie, from coverage confirmation to final payment collection. This is a foundational, multi-year charter for a new squad focused on collecting money from insurers at scale, aiming to replace manual, detective-like billing processes with a streamlined, automated system. The product manager will be responsible for ensuring claims are clean, rejections are minimized, and next steps are clear, ultimately enabling practices to get paid faster with fewer people. This role sits at the intersection of a complex domain, an API-first platform, and customers whose financial success depends on product decisions.

Requirements

At least 5 years in product management.
2 or more years owning systems where correctness has financial or regulatory consequences.
Direct, hands-on experience in healthcare revenue cycle, understanding the claim lifecycle, payer behavior, claim rejections/denials, remittance and adjustment data, and patient responsibility determination.
Experience owning a roadmap, not just a backlog, and the ability to explain prioritization decisions based on evidence and user interaction.
Systems thinking ability, instinctively looking for edge cases and reasoning about system failures from first principles.
Technical fluency, including reading API documentation, reasoning about system behavior, and participating in design tradeoff conversations with engineers.
AI fluency, using modern AI tools regularly and being able to identify and correct AI errors.
Decisiveness, acting on incomplete information by stating assumptions, choosing a path, and defining conditions for change.
Experience taking a foundational rewrite or migration and finding slices that delivered value before completion.
Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and defend or change recommendations based on arguments.

Nice To Haves

Experience with clearinghouses or building to X12 transaction sets (e.g., 837 claims, 835 remittance, 270/271 eligibility).
Depth in behavioral health, nutrition, or another specialty that bills outside the hospital, where payer rules and economics differ from a health system.
Experience with coordination of benefits, secondary claims, or corrections and appeals.
Experience building revenue cycle products on an API or platform, not solely within a single practice's internal systems.
Depth in an adjacent money-moving domain such as fintech, insurance, or marketplace payouts, in addition to healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Own the roadmap for the revenue cycle area and the outcomes it produces, deciding what gets built and in what order, defending it publicly, and being accountable for practices getting paid faster.
Stay close to billers, practices, and enterprise customers to understand their reality and gather input for product development.
Translate the complexities of healthcare payment processes into precise specifications for engineers and coding agents, aiming for automation.
Make foundational decisions with engineering regarding data capture, timing, and surfacing to ensure billing legibility and product self-explanation.
Ship foundational work in incremental slices that deliver value to customers quickly, rather than large, long-term rewrites.
Define 'correctness' for financial transactions and ensure auditability, reconciliation, and clean rollout gates.
Collaborate with engineering, design, QA, product marketing, and support as a unified squad, managing inbound requests to maintain roadmap focus.
