About The Position

Hex is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Growth to join their Growth & Monetization group. This role will focus on product-led growth (PLG), new user activation, pricing and billing, and new product initiatives. The primary goal is to ensure a positive initial experience for new users, facilitate a quick path to value, and transform their workflow. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing funnel metrics and engaging with customers to understand their challenges. This position involves owning the roadmap and executing strategies across the entire user funnel, from initial signup through activation, checkout, and expansion or upsell. Collaboration with Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, and Sales teams is crucial to achieve measurable business impact while maintaining Hex's quality standards. This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days per week in the NYC or SF office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management and/or growth experience with a proven track record of owning and improving business metrics.
  • Experience at a PLG or PLS company, understanding the interplay between product, sales, and growth loops.
  • Business owner mindset, with accountability for funnel conversion and revenue growth.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals.
  • Understanding of both quantitative (e.g., churn rate trends) and qualitative (e.g., price-to-value perception) aspects of growth.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of distilling complex funnel information for leadership and discussing technical details with engineering and design teams.
  • Ability to ship quickly, iterate, and thrive in an ambiguous environment typical of a growth-stage startup.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in data tools, developer tools, or data analytics.
  • Familiarity with experimentation methodologies and platforms (Eppo, LaunchDarkly).
  • Founder or early-stage startup experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the trial-to-paid funnel, focusing on conversion from trial to purchase through self-serve checkout or sales-assisted channels.
  • Analyze user drop-off points, formulate hypotheses, and implement strategies to improve onboarding, activation, checkout, and sales outreach.
  • Maximize seat expansion by understanding customer growth on Hex, including new user activation, paid seat promotion, and contraction reduction.
  • Collaborate with Go-To-Market (GTM) and lifecycle teams on Product-Led Sales (PLS) signals and automation to engage the right accounts at the right time.
  • Run a cross-functional growth pod, working with software engineers, designers, growth marketers, lifecycle marketers, and data teams.
  • Bring rigor to prioritization, set an ambitious pace for shipping, and maintain team focus on key business metrics.
  • Define key metrics, build dashboards for tracking, and close the loop on experiments.
  • Determine the appropriate use of A/B testing versus product intuition.
  • Proactively identify opportunities by combining data insights with customer empathy.
