About The Position

This role focuses on the trust and access layer of the dbt platform, encompassing identity, authentication, authorization, and deployment models. The Senior Product Manager will own the roadmap for these critical areas, ensuring the platform meets enterprise security and compliance requirements. This includes managing features like SSO, SCIM, RBAC, PrivateLink, and the initial user onboarding experience. The role also involves leading the migration from single-tenant to multi-tenant deployments and enabling expansion into new geographic regions and cloud providers. The position requires close collaboration with engineering teams (IAM and Transport), security, infrastructure, compliance, and field teams. The recent merger with Fivetran brings an established customer base and ARR momentum, with this role addressing a new and critical problem space for AI infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time on identity, access management, security, or infrastructure products.
  • Direct experience with authentication and authorization (SSO, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, identity providers).
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS deployment models (tenancy, isolation, regional expansion, and migration paths).
  • Strong technical foundation to work as a peer to engineering and reason about architecture.
  • Comfort in front of enterprise customers, particularly security and platform teams.
  • Excellent written communication skills for specs, tradeoffs, and explaining security decisions.
  • Comfort operating asynchronously on a distributed team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an identity provider (Okta, Auth0, Entra) or on identity, access, or deployment products at a hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Shipped private networking capabilities (PrivateLink, VPC peering, customer-managed network isolation).
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR, data residency) as a product owner.
  • Experience migrating a large existing customer base between deployment or tenancy models.
  • Background in telemetry and observability for platform services.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, analytics engineering, or the modern data warehouse ecosystem (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for identity, access, and deployment across the dbt platform.
  • Make enterprise security a competitive advantage.
  • Lead the single-tenant to multi-tenant migration program.
  • Unlock new geographies and clouds by defining deployment requirements.
  • Own the front door experience, including login, sign-up, and account discovery.
  • Empower administrators with self-serve provisioning, de-provisioning, and auditing of users and groups.
  • Act as the product voice in enterprise security reviews, translating blockers into roadmap items.
  • Partner with infrastructure and platform teams on telemetry and observability for the platform's operational health.
