About The Position

Sequence is building the AI-powered revenue platform for modern finance teams, replacing fragile spreadsheets and legacy systems with software their teams love using. We are already processing over $1bn in annual invoice volume and growing rapidly. Our platform is trusted by over 100 high-growth companies, including Cognition, incident.io, and MoonPay, to manage their entire revenue cycle, from quoting and billing to revenue recognition. Requirements

Shipped production backend systems and care about the difference between 'it works' and 'it's reliable'.
Care about customers and want to understand the 'why' behind building something.
Comfortable with ambiguity and thriving in early ideation stages.
Ability to share work-in-progress to gather feedback and adapt easily.
Communicate clearly and effectively.
Interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
Ability to learn Kotlin.

Responsibilities

Identify what to build, ship it, and ensure it works for real customers.
Build flexible, AI-powered approval workflows that customers can configure in natural language.
Develop an intelligent collections agent that can be instructed in natural language to autonomously manage the entire workflow.
Rearchitect billing infrastructure for 10x throughput, rethinking storage strategies, horizontal scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Design systems that process high-velocity event streams.
Make technical decisions that balance cost and performance at scale.
Build infrastructure that never compromises on reliability, as the systems are business-critical.
Contribute to the development of features like Watchtower (command center for AI agents), AI agents for automated financial workflows, and integrated e-signature experiences for quotes.
Design and implement role-based access controls across the product.
Shape fundamental architecture as an early member of a growing engineering team.
Take on production responsibility for revenue-critical infrastructure.
