About The Position

Concurrence is building clinical AI infrastructure for health systems, life sciences companies, payers, and government agencies. As a Senior Backend/Infra Engineer, you will build and own core services behind the agent platform, which handles millions of conversations each month. You will own services end to end, from design through production, with a focus on concurrency, reliability, clean design, and the careful handling of sensitive healthcare data. The role is for someone able to work on site in New York City or San Francisco.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating production backend systems at scale and owning their outcomes.
• Strength in concurrency, distributed systems, and service design.
• Preference for simple, maintainable solutions to difficult problems.
• Ability to debug across services, queues, and databases.
• Low-ego, direct working style and high personal standards.
• Ability to work on site in New York City or San Francisco.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a regulated or high-reliability domain, such as healthcare, finance, or legal.
• Experience with high-throughput or low-latency system design.
• Experience with production AI or ML systems.
