Urban Ridge Supplies•New York, NY
•$150,000 - $170,000

About The Position

Sequence is building an AI-powered revenue platform for modern finance teams, covering quoting, billing, and revenue recognition. The company reports processing more than $1 billion in annual invoice volume and serving Cognition, incident.io, MoonPay, and more than 100 other high-growth companies. Founded by repeat entrepreneurs, Sequence says it achieved 10x ARR growth last year and recently closed a $20 million Series A. Sequence is seeking a senior Product Designer with approximately five years of experience to help shape AI-powered finance automation. As one of the company’s first designers, this person will work closely with product, engineering, and the founders to create intuitive, AI-native workflows for billing, invoicing, and receivables. The role is suited to someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, explores new interaction models, and can make AI agents feel powerful and trustworthy. Design decisions will have direct product and customer impact in a small, high-leverage team. The position involves designing AI-first product experiences, partnering with product managers and engineers from discovery through launch, exploring how agentic workflows should act and communicate, moving between conceptual work and detailed interactions, prototyping and testing ideas, and contributing to design reviews and the company’s design culture. Sequence emphasizes speed and impact, and notes that the role is not primarily focused on extended research studies or maintaining large design systems.

  • Experience shipping B2B products; finance, B2B, or workflow-heavy domains are particularly relevant.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage environment and interest in shaping both product and process.
  • Interest in AI tools and curiosity about designing with and for AI.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and exploring new interaction patterns.
  • Prioritize speed and impact over lengthy analysis and research.

Responsibilities

  • Design AI-first product experiences across billing, invoicing, collections, and finance agent workflows.
  • Partner with product managers and engineers from discovery through shipping to bring new concepts to life.
  • Explore how agentic AI workflows should behave, including what they do automatically, when they request input, and how they explain their reasoning.
  • Move between broad concepts and tactical deliverables, from new finance copilot concepts to detailed invoice approval interactions.
  • Prototype rapidly and test ideas with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Contribute to design reviews and help build a strong design culture at Sequence.
