$170,000 - $250,000Remote

About The Position

Loancrate is seeking a Senior Product Designer to transform complex financial services workflows into intuitive and trustworthy user experiences. The role involves deep collaboration with Product and Engineering teams, owning the design process from discovery to final implementation. This position is ideal for someone who excels at crafting user-centered designs for intricate systems, particularly those involving AI-native features, automation, and data-dense interfaces. The company emphasizes open communication, rapid learning, and a fun, collaborative work environment. Loancrate aims to revolutionize the mortgage industry with AI-powered tools, significantly reducing operational costs for lenders.

Requirements

  • Portfolio showing high-craft visual and interaction design - dense layouts, multi-step workflows, and a clear, consistent point of view.
  • Deep Figma proficiency - variables, auto-layout, variants, prototyping, and component library hygiene.
  • Comfort designing AI-native UX - you understand the unique challenges of surfaces where outputs are probabilistic, not deterministic.
  • Facility with data-dense UIs - tables, filtering and sorting, bulk actions, and information-heavy layouts that still feel approachable.
  • Strong user research instincts - you know how to run interviews, synthesize qualitative signal, and connect what you learn to design decisions.
  • Accessibility proficiency - WCAG, ARIA, color/contrast, and motion sensitivity.
  • Experience contributing to or building design systems - you understand component architecture and know how to design for reuse.
  • Product mindset - you have strong opinions, communicate your rationale clearly, and know when to push back and when to ship.

Nice To Haves

  • Visual design chops and brand sensibility - a plus when work occasionally extends beyond product UI.

Responsibilities

  • Own design end-to-end for a core product area - from early discovery through high-fidelity Figma design - partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering throughout.
  • Lead customer discovery sessions - running usability tests, digging into workflows, and translating what you learn into design decisions that shape the product.
  • Design intuitive UX patterns for complex interaction paradigms - multi-step automation workflows, AI-generated content, data-dense tables, and high-stakes decision surfaces.
  • Design for AI-native experiences - uncertainty states, intervention affordances, streaming content, and graceful error handling.
  • Build and maintain Figma component libraries and design system assets that give Engineering a coherent, scalable visual language.
  • Advocate for accessibility - WCAG compliance, color and contrast, keyboard navigation, and inclusive design practices.
  • Scope design work pragmatically - making smart tradeoffs between craft and delivery velocity without compromising correctness.

Benefits

  • Robust medical coverage (100% of employee + family premiums covered)
  • Vision & dental coverage
  • 401(k)
  • HSA / FSA
  • Access to lender partner’s employee loan program
  • Remote-first culture - work from wherever you do your best work
