About The Position

Hatch is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead UX for new and evolving features on Hatch Sleep Clock, its flagship adult product. The role is an individual-contributor position on the adult products team, focused on designing experiences that help adults fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up rested across Hatch’s hardware, software, and content ecosystem. The designer will shape features from early problem framing and research synthesis through end-to-end journey mapping, hands-on design, prototyping, and launch. They will partner closely with product managers and engineers, plan and run research and prototype testing, and help develop Hatch’s product design practice and creative culture. The role is open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada, with availability required during PST/PDT hours.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on UX and product design experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and the design process, not only polished UI.
  • Ability to define problems and shape product direction by framing opportunities, mapping journeys, and making the case for what to build.
  • Strong research skills, including planning and running studies and translating findings into clear decisions.
  • Experience leading UX for features end to end, from concept to launch, in partnership with product managers and engineers.
  • Strong understanding of UX and UI best practices in mobile applications, including accessibility.
  • Ability to turn concepts into functional prototypes for testing and alignment.
  • Ability to use AI in the design process, including prototyping with code and generative tools, and demonstrate how it influenced shipped work.
  • Clear communication, storytelling, thorough design documentation, and ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Passion for human-centered product experiences and solving ambiguous problems.
  • Excitement about working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work during PST/PDT hours.
