Senior Product Designer

Urban Ridge Supplies•New York, NY

About The Position

Zeta Global is hiring a Senior Product Designer for a six-month contract opportunity to shape design across the Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP), Athena OS, Agentic Apps, and Data Cloud. This role moves across high-impact design problems throughout the platform rather than owning a single product surface. The designer will partner with the design system team and Product and Engineering teams to translate complex platform and data requirements into clear, consistent, useful customer experiences. The role focuses on data visualization, scalable systems design, AI and agentic interaction patterns, and high-quality UX, visual, motion, and interaction design. The designer will help define how users understand, trust, and act on platform data and AI-enabled systems, while improving shared design processes and supporting quality across the product ecosystem. The role also contributes to design standards, reusable patterns, and processes that help teams scale design quality and delivery. The Senior Product Designer is expected to work autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces, influence outcomes without formal authority, collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, and mentor designers. They will present data-heavy work to executive stakeholders, synthesize feedback, and apply sound judgment to balance user needs, design quality, and pragmatic delivery. Compensation is $70–$80 per hour, depending on location and experience.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of product design experience, including meaningful experience with complex platforms, systems, or tools.
  • Demonstrated experience leading foundational or platform-level design work that scales across teams, products, or workflows.
  • Hands-on experience designing and shipping features, workflows, or systems within large, complex platforms.
  • Proven close partnership with Product and Engineering in fast-paced environments, ideally across multiple product areas or teams.
  • Experience mentoring designers, influencing standards, and shaping scalable design practices without requiring formal management responsibility.
  • Experience presenting and iterating on data visualization or dashboard design with executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to design scalable systems, frameworks, and interfaces that support consistency, flexibility, and speed across complex product ecosystems.
  • Deep experience with Figma and AI tools, including structured libraries, reusable patterns, and scalable design foundations.
  • Solid understanding of AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, and emerging interaction patterns, with hands-on use of AI tools in product design.
  • Expertise across UX, visual design, interaction design, and motion, with a strong emphasis on data visualization and technically complex workflows.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the problem, user job, system behavior, and outcome; comfortable designing flows where intent matters more than screens and recognizing when UI is unnecessary.
  • Understanding of animation as UX, including using motion to communicate system state, AI progress and confidence, and loading, generation, refinement, success, failure, or partial-result states.
  • Comfort partnering with engineers, understanding technical constraints, and using low- or high-fidelity, coded or no-code prototypes to explore and communicate ideas.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through clarity, critique, documentation, and example-setting without formal authority.
  • Ability to explain data visualization principles to designers, product managers, engineers, and executives, and apply visualization best practices across a platform.
  • Ability to select chart types appropriate to the data and prioritize clarity over decoration, including knowing when a table, number, or chart best addresses a user's question.
  • Expert-level Figma skills, including scalable component architecture, variants, auto-layout, design tokens, and shared libraries.
  • Regular hands-on use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar for ideation, exploration, synthesis, critique, or systems thinking.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted build and prototyping tools such as Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, Claude Code, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Storybook and React/Next.js.
  • Experience with motion tools such as Rive, Motion.dev, Framer Motion, GSAP, or D3 for micro-animations and stateful interactions.
  • Comfort with prototyping tools such as Figma Prototypes, Framer, ProtoPie, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern frontend concepts; ability to read code, collaborate with engineers, and understand implementation tradeoffs.
  • Comfort with modern product development workflows and tools such as GitHub, Jira, Linear, Notion, Slack, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol concepts, including how context, memory, tools, and agents influence system behavior and user experience.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools or libraries such as D3, Chart.js, Highcharts, Observable Plot, or Tableau, and how they map to Figma-designed chart components.
  • Familiarity with visualization principles including chart selection, accessible color and encoding, axis and label clarity, and information density for executive reporting.
  • Ability to work autonomously, bring fuzzy problems to clarity, and own an area end-to-end.
  • Strong judgment about impact and priorities, including when not to add design or when a problem is not worth solving yet.
  • Clear communication with Product, Engineering, and leadership; ability to explain rationale and disagree constructively.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shaping problem spaces before requirements are fully defined.
  • Ownership, accountability, follow-through, and focus on outcomes.
  • Active curiosity and experimentation with AI tools, workflows, and emerging technologies.
  • Commitment to craft and polish balanced with pragmatic decisions about when to ship, learn, and iterate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with B2B, SaaS, or AI-driven products is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Storybook and React/Next.js.
  • Familiarity with MCP concepts.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools and libraries such as D3, Chart.js, Highcharts, Observable Plot, or Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve data-visualization-focused experiences across ZMP, Athena OS, Agentic Apps, and Data Cloud-facing surfaces, shifting between areas as priorities change.
  • Manage and improve shared design processes and provide quality oversight.
  • Contribute to the systematic foundation that supports consistency, scalability, and quality across the product ecosystem.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define strategy, scope, and execution.
  • Translate complex requirements and technical constraints into clear, intuitive experiences; iterate on concepts for distinct customer use cases.
  • Contribute to AI interaction models, agentic patterns, and Model Context Protocol thinking where relevant.
  • Shape how data from Data Cloud and across the platform is surfaced, visualized, and understood.
  • Apply strong visual, interaction, motion, prototyping, and data visualization craft to improve clarity, polish, and product quality.
  • Select appropriate ways to communicate data, including charts, tables, or single values, with clarity for users and executives.
  • Mentor designers, review work, challenge assumptions, and help establish design systems, interfaces, and processes that scale design impact.
  • Present data-heavy design work to executive stakeholders, gather and synthesize feedback, and balance it with best practices and user needs.
  • Influence design quality and consistency through clear communication, critique, documentation, and example-setting without relying on formal management authority.
