About The Position

Abby Care is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join its in-house design team. Reporting to the Head of Product, this role sits at the intersection of UX, UI, and strategic product thinking and partners closely with product management and engineering to deliver solutions that balance empathy with operational efficiency. The senior designer will shape product strategy, define design architecture, and help raise the design culture across the company. The designer will own complex product initiatives from early problem framing and discovery through research, user journey mapping, prototyping, and production delivery. They will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and company leadership on roadmaps, business goals, and success metrics; conduct user research with family caregivers; and use qualitative feedback and behavioral data to inform decisions. The role also establishes and evolves design systems and component libraries, prepares implementation specifications, mentors other designers, and designs adaptive AI-driven experiences for caregivers. Success includes building a durable design system and clear information architecture, delivering intuitive cross-platform solutions for caregivers, clinicians, and operators, and launching human-in-the-loop AI-assisted features that safely support users within healthcare regulations. This is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California.

  • A proven track record of shipping impactful digital products.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UX and visual UI craft, complex problem-solving, and an end-to-end design process.
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly contributing to scalable, enterprise-grade design systems.
  • Deep experience using user research, usability testing, product analytics, and experimentation to guide iterative design and justify trade-offs.
  • Strong understanding of technical constraints, system architecture, and front-end feasibility.
  • Excellent storytelling and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain design rationale to non-design stakeholders, run cross-functional workshops, and push back effectively when needed.
  • Empathy for users and genuine passion for empowering family caregivers.
