About The Position

OpenArt is hiring a Senior Product Designer to design the workspace and collaboration experience for its AI creative platform. The role focuses on creating a place where creators can organize, find, and develop their work, individually and as a team. This includes shared workspaces, roles and permissions, review and approval workflows, shared brand assets, feedback tied to relevant work, and systems for asset organization, tagging, versioning, and context. The designer will create consistent, reusable product patterns rather than isolated fixes, and design interfaces that work for both people and AI agents. The role is strategic and hands-on: design helps shape the product, and the designer will collaborate closely with founders, engineers, and the AI. The position is based in the Bay Area and is full-time, on-site or hybrid. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

Experience in systems thinking, including changing product structure so a reusable pattern solves multiple problems.
Experience designing workspaces, editors, or spatial tools where people organize and build on their work.
Experience shipping collaboration features such as sharing, roles, permissions, or review workflows.
Ability to design for both the people creating work and the people managing or paying for it.
Strong UI craft focused on clarity.
Use of AI in daily design practice, such as prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make, or similar tools.
Product mindset and concern for how the overall product works together.
Patience and ability to maintain systems as the product changes quickly.
Ability to create structure from ambiguity.
Collaborative approach and openness to feedback.
Strong communication skills, including explaining the reasoning behind product structures.

Responsibilities

Design workspaces where creators can lay out, organize, and return to their work.
Design collaboration capabilities, including shared workspaces, roles and permissions, review and approval, and shared brand assets.
Ensure feedback is associated with the work it concerns.
Create clear ways to manage team membership, access, and creative work.
Design asset organization, tagging, versioning, and contextual information so assets can support consistent campaigns.
Develop consistent design systems and patterns that solve related problems across the product.
Design interfaces that are clear and consistent for both people and AI agents.
Shape product strategy and collaborate with founders and engineers.
