About The Position

Everpure is hiring a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support its Higher Education business, with a focus on R1 research universities. The role serves as the technical lead on customer accounts, partnering with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to develop solutions customers can justify technically and financially. The position is based in Austin, Texas. The role requires understanding each institution’s research priorities, funding cycles, financial constraints, and decision-making structures. The engineer connects Everpure’s portfolio and the broader technology ecosystem to measurable research and institutional outcomes, and adapts discussions for audiences ranging from principal investigators and researchers to IT, executives, finance, and procurement. The engineer supports research workloads across the data lifecycle, from instrument and sequencer output through HPC and AI pipelines to long-term retention and archive. The position also addresses data management, governance, reproducibility, sponsor and funding-agency expectations, security requirements, and business-case considerations such as total cost of ownership, power and cooling, data-center footprint, and staff time. Responsibilities include leading evaluations and technical wins, developing configurations, responding to procurement requests, and sharing market and research-computing trends with the organization.
