About The Position

Everpure is hiring a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support its Higher Education business, focusing on R1 research universities in Michigan or Indiana. The role serves as the technical lead on customer accounts, working with account managers, specialists, partners, and higher education purchasing consortia to develop solutions customers can justify both technically and financially. The position calls for understanding institutions’ research priorities, funding cycles, budget constraints, decision-making structures, and varied stakeholder needs, and connecting technology to measurable research and institutional outcomes. The engineer supports research workloads from instrument and sequencer output through HPC and AI pipelines to long-term retention and archive. The role also helps customers address data lifecycle and retention, reproducibility, sponsor and funding-agency data-sharing expectations, research data governance, and applicable security requirements such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC. Responsibilities include leading technical evaluations and procurement responses, securing technical wins, and staying current on competition and research-computing trends. The role requires at least eight years of relevant experience across technology, solution design, and customer-facing communication; pre-sales or customer-facing technical experience; and experience in higher education, research computing, academic medical centers, or the public sector. A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, another technical degree, or equivalent experience is required. The annual base salary range is $141,400–$212,100 USD. The role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity. The position is tagged remote (#LI-REMOTE), and candidates must be in Michigan or Indiana.
