Senior Pharmacy Care Technician - Schaumburg, IL
About The Position
At UnitedHealthcare, the Senior Pharmacy Care Technician performs live telephonic outreach to UHC Medicare members and their physicians and pharmacies to improve health quality outcomes, including medication adherence and appropriate drug utilization. The role works collaboratively with Clinical Pharmacists and supports clinical and business goals, member engagement, and improved member experience. This is an office-based remote role for someone residing within commuting distance of the Schaumburg, Illinois office. The position requires working onsite one day per month and remotely the rest of the month. Initial training is 100% onsite for approximately two to three weeks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour shift between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of residence.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- At least 3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Beginner-level proficiency navigating Microsoft Office and a Windows-based environment.
- Reside within commuting distance of the Schaumburg, Illinois office.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, an eight-hour shift between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Nice To Haves
- Retail and/or mail order pharmacy experience.
- Experience with Part D claims adjudication.
Responsibilities
- Perform telephonic customer outreach to improve health quality outcomes in collaboration with Clinical Pharmacists.
- Conduct additional telephonic engagement with providers and pharmacies.
- Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements, referring customers to a Clinical Pharmacist when appropriate.
- Make outbound calls to CAHPs detractors and MedAdh members to improve member experience and reduce barriers to medication adherence.
- Document and track member engagement.
