Senior Patient Registrar- Radiology- Hudson Valley
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital is seeking a Senior Patient Registrar for Radiology Scheduling. The role registers patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, obtains demographic and insurance information, ensures proper scheduling, records patient history, and obtains pre-certification and authorization. The registrar provides a calm, reassuring presence and supports patients as they navigate their hospital experience. This is a full-time day position, Monday through Friday, scheduled from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with flexibility required based on operational needs. The position supports radiology locations at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor and offsite locations in Croton-on-Hudson and Cold Spring; Hudson Valley Hospital is the home base. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within commuting distance. NYP does not reimburse travel expenses.
Requirements
- At least one year of clerical experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Energetic, approachable, and committed to putting patients first.
- Detail-oriented, able to problem-solve, and able to work independently.
- Ability to multitask and perform various registration duties on demand, including willingness to cover all areas as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of hospital procedures, routines, regulations, and medical terminology.
- Some completed college coursework and familiarity with health insurance requirements.
- Experience working with prior authorizations.
- Epic experience.
