About The Position

As a Senior Energy Market Optimization Engineer, you will combine advanced mathematical modeling, software development, and power system expertise to create solutions for electricity markets and grid operations. Your work will help utilities and market operators optimize decision-making, improve market efficiency, integrate renewable energy resources, and maintain reliable power delivery in real time. You will work with optimization technologies, software tools, and a global team to solve technical problems and contribute to energy market and grid-operation solutions.

The role is based in Santa Clara, California, and is not remote. It involves customer-facing technical work and collaboration on global customer projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electricity markets or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience with optimization modeling tools and solvers such as AMPL, AIMMS, CPLEX, or Gurobi.
• At least 3 years of experience programming with high-level languages.
• At least 3 years of experience working in Linux or AIX environments.
• At least 2 years of experience developing power system applications for electricity markets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and recommend effective technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and enhance optimization applications for power systems and electricity markets.
• Build and integrate software components using industry best practices.
• Research and implement advanced mathematical models and numerical optimization methods.
• Support software releases and resolve complex technical challenges.

• Participate in customer discussions and provide technical expertise.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and documentation.
