About The Position

The Senior Energy Market Optimization Engineer combines advanced mathematical modeling, software development, and power system expertise to create solutions for electricity markets and grid operations. The role supports utilities and market operators in optimizing decision-making, improving market efficiency, integrating renewable energy resources, and maintaining reliable power delivery in real time. The engineer develops and enhances optimization applications, applies advanced algorithms, and contributes to solutions that support the energy transition. The position is based in Santa Clara, California, and is not remote. The role involves customer-facing technical work and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on global projects. It also includes supporting software releases, resolving complex technical challenges, and improving software development processes and documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electricity markets or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience with optimization modeling tools and solvers such as AMPL, AIMMS, CPLEX, or Gurobi.
Minimum 3 years of experience programming with high-level languages.
Minimum 3 years of experience working in Linux or AIX environments.
Minimum 2 years of experience developing power system applications for electricity markets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
