Senior Operations Specialist

Function HealthUS - Remote,

About The Position

Function Health is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to join their Operational Readiness & Implementation team. This role is a senior individual contributor responsible for the end-to-end delivery of initiatives such as product launches, growth campaigns, and brand partnerships. The Senior Operations Specialist will act as the primary subject matter expert for the team and a key advisor to the Manager, operating with a high degree of autonomy. They will own project plans, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure delivery quality from intake through post-launch stabilization. This role also involves providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship to the Operations Specialist without formal management authority, focusing on task execution, initiative context, and professional development. The company is in a high-growth phase, backed by significant funding, and is focused on scaling its people systems and data to support its mission of empowering individuals to live healthier lives through AI-driven insights and advanced diagnostics.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in operations, member operations, program management, implementation, healthcare operations, or operational strategy.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives independently.
  • Deep experience designing operational enablement programs such as SOPs, playbooks, and training frameworks at scale.
  • Strong executive communication skills; able to synthesize complexity and present clearly to senior audiences.
  • Strong risk management and systems-thinking capability.
  • Experience providing informal guidance or direction to junior team members.
  • High comfort with ambiguity; proven ability to create structure and drive clarity where none exists.
  • Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with competing priorities and evolving workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Own project plans for ORI initiatives from intake through post-launch review — defining scope, milestones, dependencies, success criteria, and risk posture.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery quality and on-time execution across assigned programs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional blockers before they impact launch readiness.
  • Make judgment calls on prioritization, scope management, and risk mitigation within their portfolio.
  • Lead structured impact assessments across workflows, tooling, staffing, SLAs, and member experience.
  • Develop and maintain risk-based readiness frameworks and launch checklists.
  • Identify operational failure points and own the mitigation strategy.
  • Provide formal readiness assessments and go/no-go recommendations to the Manager.
  • Serve as the team's deepest SME across all active ORI initiatives — product launches, growth programs, and brand partnerships.
  • Translate complex operational requirements into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain comprehensive institutional knowledge of ORI's initiative portfolio.
  • Represent ORI as the expert voice in cross-functional planning sessions and executive reviews.
  • Own ORI's enablement infrastructure — SOPs, playbooks, launch readiness checklists, and training programs for ops stakeholders.
  • Ensure enablement materials are scalable, evergreen, and built for teams that will execute independently after handoff.
  • Identify systemic gaps in documentation coverage and develop solutions proactively.
  • Set the quality standard for enablement outputs across the team.
  • Influence upstream decisions — in product, marketing, and partnerships — that have downstream operational implications.
  • Advocate for ORI's priorities and capacity in planning forums and stakeholder discussions.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and task direction to the Operations Specialist.
  • Serve as a thought partner and sounding board when the OS navigates complex or novel situations.
  • Model strong project management practices, documentation standards, and cross-functional communication norms.
  • Lead root cause analyses for operational breakdowns.
  • Drive post-launch stabilization and time-to-stability improvements.
  • Recommend process, staffing, or tooling adjustments based on performance data.
