About The Position

This position is for a Graduate Student Employee Biweekly - Senior Office Assistant in the Computer Science department at Baylor University. The role involves providing office support, event services, and administrative tasks. Due to the confidential nature of the position, students enrolled in specific Computer Science courses (CSI, CSF, CYB, BINF, DSC) are not eligible. The Senior Office Assistant will also oversee undergraduate student workers, ensuring tasks are completed correctly, providing training, and assisting with coverage when needed. Monthly duties include ordering supplies, meeting with undergraduate student workers, and assisting with special projects.

  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Students taking Computer Science (CSI), Computer Science Fellows (CSF), Cybersecurity (CYB), Bioinformatics (BINF), or Data Science (DSC) courses are not eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Greet students and guests with excellent customer service, give directions, and answer questions.
  • Restock supplies, tidy up the office area, hang flyers, and provide computer and phone assistance.
  • Handle documents including mail, copying, scanning, and shredding.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Retrieve or distribute mail or other items around campus.
  • Assist with preparation, setup, and cleanup for lunches, ceremonies, and meetings.
  • Comply with University policies.
  • Review CS classrooms for cleanliness and supplies weekly.
  • Review department and graduate student kitchens for cleanliness and supplies weekly.
  • Review duties assigned to undergraduate student workers for correct completion weekly.
  • Train and coach undergraduate student workers on various tasks as needed weekly.
  • As able, work shifts for undergraduate student workers who cannot report to duty weekly.
  • Order supplies through the Ignite program twice a month, ensuring items are received and delivered to the correct location.
  • Once a month, meet with each undergraduate student worker regarding needs or concerns about their role or work duties.
  • Each month, help the Office Manager or the Graduate Program Coordinator with special projects.
