About The Position

Baylor University's Graduate School is seeking a Graduate Student Teaching Assistant for an ESL Class. This position is for a Baylor grad student who is a native English speaker and will work with international graduate students to improve their English speaking skills. Responsibilities include coaching on pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, and clear communication of ideas, as well as administrative tasks such as scheduling sessions, maintaining logs, and marking completion in Canvas.

Requirements

• Must be a Baylor grad student.
• Must be an American native-English-speaker.
• Requires teaching skills.
• Requires patience.
• Requires some experience with learning a foreign language.

Nice To Haves

• Experience living abroad is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with international graduate students to help them improve their English speaking skills.
• Coach students on pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, and the clear communication of ideas.
• Set up weekly coaching sessions.
• Keep a log of the sessions.
• Mark sessions completed in Canvas.
