About The Position

Baylor University's Graduate School is seeking a Graduate Student Employee Biweekly to serve as a Teaching Assistant for an ESL Class. This role is designed for a Baylor graduate student who is a native English speaker and will work with international graduate students to enhance their English speaking abilities. The position involves coaching on pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, and clear communication of ideas, as well as administrative tasks such as scheduling sessions, maintaining logs, and updating Canvas.

Requirements

  • Must be a Baylor grad student.
  • Must be an American native-English-speaker.
  • Requires teaching skills.
  • Requires patience.
  • Requires some experience with learning a foreign language.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience living abroad is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with international graduate students to help them improve their English speaking skills.
  • Coach students on pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, and the clear communication of ideas.
  • Set up weekly coaching sessions.
  • Keep a log of the coaching sessions.
  • Mark sessions completed in Canvas.
