About The Position

The Senior Network Services Engineer executes the design, installation, and maintenance of network infrastructure and related technologies. The role uses network management tools to analyze performance, coordinates network changes with stakeholders, and deploys network and security policies using automation to support scalability and reliability. The engineer serves as a technical liaison with customers and internal teams, maintains network inventory and configuration data, monitors and maintains network components, and supports security and compliance policies. The role also supports peer mentoring, task standardization, troubleshooting, and proactive management of potential service impacts. Some Network Service roles develop automation, scripts, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting mechanisms to improve network operations and monitoring. This position supports physical and cloud network services for Oracle Health customers. It performs operational work with established designs, tools, patterns, and procedures; investigates incidents and connectivity issues; executes reviewed production changes and portions of upgrades and maintenance; and contributes to operational improvements. The engineer works across infrastructure, security, SRE, platform, application, and vendor teams, maintains accurate technical documentation, and provides clear handoffs across regions and time zones. The role participates in a global on-call rotation and planned maintenance outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays as assigned.

  • Experience making small, reviewed changes to existing scripts or using network device APIs, Ansible, or other configuration management tools.
  • Experience contributing to monitoring, configuration compliance, capacity reviews, or disaster recovery exercises.
  • Relevant networking or cloud certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or OCI/AWS certifications, or equivalent demonstrated technical knowledge.
  • Preferred education and experience: 8 years of related experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of related experience; or a master’s degree in those fields or a related field and 2 years of related experience.
  • 4 years of experience troubleshooting various systems.
  • Associate-level network or security certification.
  • Professional-level industry network or security certification.
  • Relevant industry-recognized IT Service Management (ITSM) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, and maintain physical and cloud network services supporting Oracle Health customers; own assigned operational tasks through resolution or coordinated handoff.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers using established designs and procedures.
  • Configure and troubleshoot OCI and AWS virtual networks, subnets, routing, security controls, DNS, and load balancing within established patterns; assist with private connectivity between cloud and data center environments.
