About The Position

The Boeing Company is hiring Senior Missions Systems Software Engineers – Embedded to join its Mission Systems Software team in Berkeley, Missouri. Engineers work in collaborative Agile integrated product teams to implement features for safety-critical and/or mission-critical flight software. The position involves work throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements decomposition, architecture definition, algorithm development, software development, testing (including Hardware in the Loop), and documentation. Development takes place in a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline focused on code quality, security, and automation. Candidates are matched to teams and opportunities based on program needs, background and experience, and career goals. Teams collaborate across software, analysis, integration and test, sensors, and system test engineering. More senior engineers are expected to develop technical product plans, lead and mentor less experienced engineers, and communicate with senior leadership and government counterparts. Areas of interest include sensor fusion, mission and resource management, fire control and weapons engagement, mission processing, stores management software, tactical communications, third-party software integration, and pilot vehicle interface software. The role designs, develops, tests, debugs, and maintains embedded software; translates customer requirements into software designs; builds software for specialized hardware; integrates software with hardware; and improves system efficiency and stability. It also involves applying relevant technologies and regulations, advising on software and hardware integration, evaluating internal and supplier team performance for compliance, and performing embedded software project management functions. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance and program access after starting, subject to U.S. citizenship requirements. Some travel may be required, up to 10%. Relocation is offered based on eligibility.
