The Medical Assistant II ensures high-quality patient care, assists providers with virtual and on-site exams and treatments, and provides leadership by mentoring staff and supporting practice operations.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years’ experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports virtual and on-site patient care by rooming patients, recording vitals, performing tests, injections, medication administration, and EKGs.
  • Assists clinicians with exams and procedures.
  • Prepares treatment rooms.
  • Manages EMR documentation.
  • Handles patient callbacks.
  • Maintains equipment sterilization.
  • Manages authorizations, referrals, refills, and scheduling.
  • Performs quality control of POCT equipment.
  • Handles clerical tasks.
  • Manages supply inventory.
  • Provides staff coverage.
  • Ensures safe work practices.
