About The Position

MJM is a portfolio of Indigenous-owned and operated retail businesses based in Kanehsatà:ke (Oka). As Senior Marketing Strategist, you'll shape how our businesses show up in the market. You'll build digital and SMS campaigns that actually move people, work across multiple businesses under the MJM umbrella, and connect the dots between strategy and execution. This role is for someone who can think big and also roll up their sleeves to make things happen.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with a track record of building and running digital campaigns that delivered results
  • Strong digital marketing fundamentals across email, SMS, social, and web
  • Experience working across multiple brands or business lines is a real asset
  • Comfort with light project management; you can keep things moving without a full PMO behind you
  • Clear, confident communication: in writing, in conversation, and in follow-through
  • Comfort with marketing tools, analytics platforms, and reporting; you can tell a story with the numbers
  • A flexible, action-oriented mindset; you spot opportunities and move on them
  • Ability to work primarily virtually with occasional travel to visit the businesses you support

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing strategies across several businesses in the MJM portfolio, understanding what makes each one distinct while finding opportunities to share what works
  • Own the digital marketing roadmap: campaigns, channels, content, and how it all fits together
  • Design SMS campaigns that feel like a value-add to customers, not noise
  • Bring fresh thinking to how we reach, engage, and keep our audiences
  • Plan, launch, and optimize digital and SMS campaigns end to end
  • Track performance and report on what's working, what isn't, and what to do about it
  • Test, learn, and iterate; we'd rather try something and adjust than wait for perfect
  • Stay close to trends in digital marketing, customer behaviour, and the industries we serve
  • Be the connector between strategy and the people who help bring it to life, including our in-house IT and tech support for SMS execution
  • Carry the light project management that comes with running campaigns across multiple businesses: timelines, deliverables, follow-through
  • Work closely with business owners and operators to understand what each brand needs and translate that into action
  • Keep everyone aligned without becoming a bottleneck
  • Visit MJM stores at least once or twice a year to stay grounded in what's happening on the floor; great marketing starts with knowing the business
  • Be a reliable partner to the teams you support, even when you're working virtually most of the time
