About The Position

We’re looking for a motivated Sr. Marketing Strategist to support our B2B sales organization within Principal’s Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) business. In this role, you will play a crucial role in developing strategic marketing plans to drive business results for Principal’s retirement business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) and at least 6 -8 years of related work experience required
  • Experience helping to build strategic marketing programs that deliver strong results
  • Experience parting with or supporting a sales organization
  • Ability to translate data analytics into implications
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong influence and informal leadership skills, with the ability to bring stakeholders together to deliver a consistent message
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects
  • Some travel required, including overnight stays

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with financial services or retirement industry
  • Ability to anticipate needs, problem- solve proactively and build strong internal relationships
  • General understanding of Principal business, products and industry along with understanding or experience with identified audience

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with distribution teams to develop strategic marketing campaigns that align with business priorities, promote awareness and drive engagement.
  • Establish clear metrics for assessing success and guarantee seamless implementation.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create, build, and successfully implement multiple complex and concurrent campaigns.
  • Have a deep understanding of specific audiences and behaviors.
  • Oversee and evaluate our advisor marketing qualified engagement program.
  • Elevate brand awareness by amplifying third party recognition.
  • Communicate ideas effectively to internal and external stakeholders, lead through influence and work across teams, the enterprise and with external agencies.
