About The Position

UnidosUS seeks a social media professional to help lead the strategy, voice, and growth of the organization’s social media presence across all platforms. Reporting to the Director, Social Media, and working in close partnership with media relations and executive communications teams, the Senior Manager will help set and implement the vision for how UnidosUS shows up online-building audience, deepening engagement, and ensuring the Latino perspective is inserted into the national dialogue on breaking news, current affairs, and the issues that matter most to our community. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively to help develop and implement daily content creation and execute platform management that raises awareness and drives engagement among key audiences. The ideal candidate is a strategist and a storyteller: someone who understands how narratives move across platforms, who helps translate complex policy with minimum supervision into written and video content that resonates with both English- and Spanish-dominant audiences and who thrives in a fast-paced media environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in social media or digital communications, ideally in an advocacy, political, nonprofit, media or agency, including substantive experience in creating and editing multimedia content (photo, video, audio, graphics).
  • Demonstrated success in executing social strategies that grew audiences and drove measurable engagement and action.
  • Familiarity and execution of major platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky) and their analytics, advertising and publishing tools.
  • Experience with social listening and management tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Talkwalker), and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and short-form video production and editing.
  • Experience in rapid response environment and operating across social media platforms in a fast-moving, news driven environment.
  • Experience with social media best practices, and willingness to regularly collaborate with UnidosUS’ communication colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex policy into clear, compelling platform-native content. Keen eye for details.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the Latino community.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supervising is highly desired.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge and concepts of social media to develop and manage project plans and daily activities under deadline.
  • Manage end-to-end video production for social platforms, scripting, shooting and editing short-form videos for institutional channels.
  • Works effectively across functional teams and other components as needed in managing institutional social media strategies, including scheduling organic posts, drafting copy, designing simple graphics or videos, and reporting results.
  • Create, update, and socialize detailed project schedules in Monday.com to provide transparency and keep internal team members and colleagues informed on project status at key milestones.
  • Help manage social content calendar and the development of original, platform-native content, short-form video, graphics, copy, and live coverage under the supervision of the Director of Social Media.
  • Support digital campaigns, under the guidance of the Director of Social Media, which are tied to legislative and policy moments, civic engagement cycles (e.g. voter registration), institutional events such as the UnidosUS Annual Conference, and UnidosUS Affiliates Network spotlights.
  • Help ensure content is culturally relevant and bilingual where appropriate, reflecting the diversity of the Latino community in the United States and Puerto Rico.
  • Work with Director of Social Media and executive communications team to help align institutional messaging with President/CEO’s social media channels.
  • Help execute a robust rapid-response capability: monitoring breaking news, identifying real-time opportunities and deploying timely content that shapes the narrative on issues affecting Latinos.
  • Use social listening tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Talkwalker) to help track conversations, newsmakers, influencers, as well as mis- and disinformation targeting Latino communities and sentiment around UnidosUS priorities.
  • Support Director of Social Media in coordinating with policy and communications leadership, as well as media relations and executive communications teams on crisis communications, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Work with Director of Social Media to support relationships with digital creators, influencers, and partner organizations to expand reach with new audiences, including a reach to younger demographics.
  • Help develop and share social media guidance, toolkits, as well as, amplify local stories to support UnidosUS’s Affiliate Network around the country.
  • Support the development of two-way engagement with followers, moving audiences through the funnel from awareness to action.
  • Help develop KPIs and regular reporting on audience growth, engagement, reach, conversion and campaign performance; help translate analytics into actionable insights for leadership and colleagues.
  • Support ongoing testing and optimization of content formats, posting strategies and paid spend.
