About The Position

Single Grain is hiring a full-time, remote, client-facing SEO/AEO strategist to own search strategy and execution for an assigned book of client accounts. The role focuses on helping clients appear in AI-generated answers and grow qualified organic pipeline across Google and answer engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. The position reports to CEO Eric Siu and is a hands-on player-coach role, not a people-manager seat. The Senior Manager diagnoses client search demand, answer-engine visibility, technical health, content systems, and conversion paths; sets baselines and targets; and owns the roadmap and prioritization of work. They build and maintain AI agents and workflows for production activities, using Single Brain, ClickFlow, and tools such as Claude Code. AI-generated work must be reviewed for factual, brand, and technical accuracy before publication. The role also leads client strategy calls, coordinates work with writers, developers, and analysts, and reports monthly on citations, qualified organic traffic, and pipeline or revenue where attribution permits. Success includes establishing client baselines and a live citation tracker in the first 30 days; implementing an agent-built brief-to-publish pipeline and client reporting by day 60; and reaching a brief-to-publish cycle under five working days, with measurable progress and usable runbooks by day 90. Over 6–12 months, the goal is to increase citations and qualified organic pipeline across the client book, have workflows handle more than 70% of production, and reduce dependence on the role holder for daily execution. The role is remote and requires at least four hours of overlap with US time zones. Compensation is $100,000–$150,000 USD per year. Benefits are subject to plan terms and eligibility.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience in SEO or organic growth.
Currently operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director, Director, or Head scope, with client-facing ownership.
Evidence of shipped answer-engine or AI-for-SEO work, including pages, citations, and measurement approach.
Experience building and maintaining an agent or workflow that removed real production work, with evidence of its inputs, outputs, quality assurance, and results.
A quantified result in citations, qualified traffic, pipeline, or revenue, including baseline, period, and attribution method.
Demonstrable AI fluency, including understanding how answer engines retrieve and cite sources and which decisions require personal judgment.
Strong technical SEO, analytics, and prioritization judgment.
Strong client-facing strategic communication and hands-on execution capability.
Steady tenure; internal promotions are valued.
At least four hours of overlap with US time zones.
Answer the application questions yourself; AI-written answers are disqualified.

Responsibilities

Diagnose each client's search demand, answer-engine visibility, technical health, content system, and conversion path; establish baselines and targets.

Run a fixed weekly prompt set across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, recording client and competitor citations.
Build and maintain production agents for research, briefs, content refreshes, internal linking, technical checks, and reporting; help teammates use them.
Maintain a brief-to-publish cycle under five working days, with human review of facts, brand, and technical accuracy before publication.
Lead client strategy calls with proactive recommendations and provide writers, developers, and analysts with clear acceptance criteria.
Report monthly on citations, qualified organic traffic, and pipeline or revenue where attribution allows.
Write runbooks that enable the system to operate without the role holder at the keyboard.
