Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

Anaconda, Inc.
$118,000 - $204,000Remote

About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to own the technical revenue accounting function as Anaconda scales from Python-for-data-science company to AI-native platform. You'll build the revenue processes and technical rigor that allow us to integrate three 2026 acquisitions, transition to usage-based billing, and scale toward Big Four audit readiness; all while the business is moving fast. This is a hands-on, high-judgment seat where your technical accounting decisions have real operational consequences, not memo-writing in a vacuum. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Requirements

  • 6+ years progressive revenue accounting experience with hands-on ASC 606 application in SaaS or subscription business models
  • Experience with ASC 340-40 deferred commission accounting
  • Demonstrated experience providing deal desk or real-time revenue guidance on complex or non-standard contracts
  • Hands-on experience with quote-to-cash systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, and CPQ or billing platforms such as Nue, Zuora, or Chargebee
  • External audit experience including technical memo writing and workpaper preparation that meets Big Four or national firm standards
  • Experience using AI tools to speed technical accounting or reconciliation work, with readiness to build AI-enabled workflows for a team
  • People management experience or clear readiness to manage and develop a technical accounting team
  • Multi-entity accounting experience navigating legal and operational complexity across business structures
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • You embody our values of Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish

Nice To Haves

  • CPA credential strongly preferred
  • You've integrated revenue systems post-acquisition or handled purchase accounting revenue implications when combining billing platforms
  • You've worked with usage-based or consumption billing models, building 606-compliant allocation frameworks for tiered or variable pricing
  • You have Big Four or national accounting firm audit background combined with in-house SaaS operational experience, bringing both technical rigor and practical system fluency
  • You've built AI agents that automate manual review work like comparing dates, dollar amounts, addresses across systems and flags exceptions for human review while auto-approving clean transactions
  • You've worked in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments where you built revenue processes proactively rather than fixed mistakes reactively
  • You've worked at open-source, AI, or data science companies where technical products required creative revenue treatment

Responsibilities

  • Own ASC 606 technical analysis for new and non-standard deals, including performance obligation identification, standalone selling price analysis, and variable consideration treatment, drafting technical accounting memos that guide how we recognize revenue
  • Determine revenue treatment and billing mechanics for three acquired businesses transitioning from QuickBooks into NetSuite, including one on AWS Marketplace, building integration processes that scale correctly from the start
  • Sit on the deal desk providing real-time revenue guidance to Sales and Legal on non-standard contracts, usage-based pricing, and hybrid models so deals close with proper revenue treatment baked in
  • Own the quote-to-cash process end-to-end across Salesforce, Nue CPQ, NetSuite, Anrok, and Stripe, improving handoffs and data flow with RevOps as systems evolve
  • Own monthly revenue close, including deferred revenue waterfall reconciliation, deferred commission accounting under ASC 340-40, and ACL/CECL credit loss analysis
  • Lead the revenue recognition thread of external audits, preparing technical memos, workpapers, and sample support that meet Big Four documentation standards
  • Build AI-enabled workflows for your team, such as memo drafting, reconciliation automation, and recurring reporting; that speed technical and operational work as revenue complexity scales
  • Manage and develop the revenue team; currently one direct report

  • Flexible Vacation Policy
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Monthly Wellness Stipend
  • Employee Assistance Program and Mental Health Resources
  • annual bonus potential
  • equity participation
