Senior Manager, Industry Relations

RIS Rx•Irvine, CA
•$135,000 - $150,000

About The Position

The Senior Manager, Industry Relations is the initial RIS Rx contact for pharmaceutical manufacturers. This senior individual contributor opens relationships with manufacturer contacts, explains RIS Rx’s services in terms relevant to their brands and programs, identifies potential needs, and secures an initial meeting and data conversation. After establishing fit and arranging the data discussion, the role makes a warm handoff to the VP, Business Development, who takes ownership of further development. The role has a deliberately focused scope and is an entry point into the RIS Rx commercial organization, with a path into business development or client success. The position is designed for someone with pharmaceutical industry experience who understands manufacturer team structures and is comfortable building relationships in meetings and at conferences. The role reports through a direct line to commercial leadership. Performance is measured against targets set in the annual plan and reviewed quarterly. Variable compensation is tied to meetings held and accepted handoffs rather than bookings.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience inside the pharmaceutical industry in a field-facing or manufacturer-facing role, such as medical science liaison, field access or reimbursement liaison, specialty sales, hub or patient services, market access, or trade.

  • Comfort with conference-floor engagement and cold or lightly warm outreach, with a record of securing meetings.
  • Ability to write concise emails of three to five sentences with a single ask.
  • Discipline in using HubSpot and following up; ability to manage a personal calendar and target list independently.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for conferences and planned visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Make a warm introduction to the VP, Business Development of record, arrange the meeting, and transition the relationship.
  • Keep relationships warm through conference check-ins, relevant market news, and updates related to contacts’ brands.
  • Log every contact in HubSpot on the same day.
  • Own the team’s conference presence, including setting the pre-booked meeting calendar four to six weeks in advance, managing the meeting-room schedule, and following up within 48 hours after events.
