About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Digital Controls Military Business Segment in Puerto Rico within the GETC Power & Controls Engineering Team. This strategic and results-oriented role is based in Aguadilla, PR, and offers a unique opportunity to shape and drive the long-term vision for engineering capabilities across software, electronics, and mechanical disciplines. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading high-performing teams, fostering strong relationships with global and local stakeholders, and representing GETC Puerto Rico in global forums as a respected technical and organizational leader. This role is ideal for an experienced strategic engineering leader with a passion for technical innovation and team development, who is ready to make a significant impact on the future of aerospace technology. This position is hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, following the schedule assigned by the Manager. Candidates must reside in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment, as relocation is not offered.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • 2-3 years in Engineering leadership experience, including managing complex programs and cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a long-range engineering roadmap aligned with business priorities, collaborating with global and local stakeholders.
  • Manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers and engineering managers across software, electronics, and mechanical domains, cultivating a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Advance the technical depth of the organization to support increasing engineering ownership and delegation. Enhance team competencies, tools, and processes to ensure quality, autonomy, and efficiency.
  • Drive performance across cost, schedule, quality, and technical metrics. Support predictable project execution and continuous improvement through initiatives like CORE.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Ensure the delivery of high-quality aerospace systems through engineering excellence.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with cross-functional teams, global program partners, and senior leaders. Deliver concise and insightful updates via business reviews and reports.
  • Lead efforts in talent acquisition, development, mentorship, and retention. Drive performance management to address development needs and foster a highly engaged team. Champion change management to support cultural and organizational evolution.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational accountability, maintaining audit readiness.
