About The Position

Direct Supply is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering, to lead multiple engineering teams or a broader product portfolio delivering reliable, customer-focused products and platforms. The role improves software development and operations, guides responsible AI adoption where it provides measurable value, strengthens engineering practices, and develops high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and continuous learning. The Senior Manager works with senior product and business partners to align engineering priorities with customer needs, balance investment and capacity, and achieve measurable business outcomes. As part of the Platform Architecture & Engineering organization, the role's primary customers are software developers building solutions for external customers. The Senior Manager identifies gaps in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), developer tools, data platforms, and cloud deployments, then develops and executes strategies to address them, promote consistent guidance across the technology organization, and improve the Developer Experience. The organization is merging product lines for interoperability, using AI development tools to modernize legacy technology, and building agentic customer solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple engineering teams or a broad product or platform area, with accountability for outcomes across teams.
  • Experience coaching engineering managers or technical leaders, developing talent, and building organizational capability beyond an individual team.
  • Ability to shape roadmaps and make informed tradeoffs across priorities, capacity, investment, and dependencies with senior product and business partners.
  • Experience evaluating AI, machine learning, or automation opportunities and guiding solutions from testing into sustained use, with attention to measurable value, quality, security, privacy, and operational needs.
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, reliability, and technical-debt management.
  • Experience guiding engineering teams across relevant application and distributed-system technologies, such as .NET, web, or mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Shape engineering priorities and roadmaps with senior product and business partners, balancing customer needs, investment, capacity, and dependencies to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Use customer research, product data, feedback, and operational measures to guide decisions, improve product performance, and strengthen customer experiences.
  • Lead multiple engineering teams through the design, delivery, and operation of customer-facing software, with accountability for architecture, quality, security, reliability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Identify and evaluate AI, machine learning, and automation opportunities across products and engineering workflows; define success measures, assess value and risks, and scale effective solutions with appropriate privacy, security, quality, and human oversight.
  • Develop engineering managers, technical leaders, and teams through coaching, hiring, talent development, clear expectations, and an inclusive culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Establish consistent practices for architecture, software maintainability, security, reliability, and technical health to improve quality and long-term scalability.
  • Improve software delivery and operational efficiency through CI/CD, automated testing, cloud operations, and technical-debt management.
  • Lead adoption of new tools, practices, and ways of working across teams, aligning stakeholders, communicating the rationale for change, and building capabilities to sustain improvements.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, security, and business teams to resolve dependencies, align priorities, and deliver shared outcomes.
