About The Position

The Senior Platform Engineer leads the design, operation, and continuous improvement of data and platform services across a complex portfolio of cloud, analytics, and AI-enabled workloads. The role establishes a reliable operating model covering platform health, service ownership, incident response, observability, and governance, partnering with AMS, platform teams, and business stakeholders to reduce manual operational effort, improve service visibility, and strengthen operational resilience. The role builds an enterprise-ready foundation for platform operations, covering monitoring, alerting, vendor accountability, performance optimization, cost awareness, and support excellence. The engineer drives shared standards, defines escalation paths, improves observability maturity, and modernizes data platform operations to provide a holistic view of platform health and risk. The position requires technical leadership that translates operational complexity into priorities, measurable outcomes, and improvement plans. The position is based in Findlay, Ohio, with additional locations in Houston and San Antonio, Texas. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of relevant platform engineering experience.
Knowledge and skills in cloud infrastructure management, computer networking, cybersecurity risk management, DevSecOps, general programming, infrastructure as code, IT infrastructure management, performance monitoring, policy management, process automation, service delivery management, system administration, system platforms, system testing, systems integration, and troubleshooting.
Ability to develop platform automation scripts and utilities using .NET, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Ability to build and support CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps workflows.

Responsibilities

Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to improve platform and system performance and resource utilization.
Establish performance benchmarks, conduct capacity planning, and collaborate with junior engineers and cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure performance and activities.
Improve troubleshooting procedures, minimize platform and system downtime, maintain documentation, and work with vendor technical support to resolve issues.
Lead technical support and troubleshooting, including escalated and complex issues; perform advanced system tuning and optimization using IT Service Management practices.
Collaborate with internal teams to improve support processes and methodologies.
Participate in future platform and system backup planning; lead disaster and system recovery design and testing.
Analyze performance and utilization data, identify trends, recommend improvements, prepare infrastructure performance reports, and implement corrective actions.
Lead the design and configuration of complex platforms and systems in accordance with best practices and industry standards; maintain compliance with original designs and configurations and correct deviations.
Build and deploy highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.
Create and maintain a knowledge base with troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices; promote knowledge sharing through training, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration.
Develop platform automation scripts and utilities in .NET, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Build and support CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps workflows for reliable deployments.
Build, maintain, and govern CI/CD pipelines for Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Foundry workloads, including infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, security controls, environment promotion, and operational monitoring.
