About The Position

American Express’s Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Product organization is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Apple Pay product management for the American Express Network. The role owns product strategy, roadmap, and feature backlog, and leads new capabilities end to end—from prioritization and discovery through delivery and go-to-market. It serves as a key Product interface with Apple, Digital Labs, and internal Network teams, at the intersection of payments, technology, customer experience, and a major technology platform. The Network Product team develops and manages payment products and services for American Express Global Network issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Its remit includes existing Network capabilities, new product and service development, and the end-to-end partner lifecycle, supporting proprietary and third-party partners globally. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, exercising product judgment, curiosity, and customer empathy in a complex, collaborative environment. A bachelor’s degree is required. Employment eligibility to work in the United States is required; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of digital product management experience, with a track record of building and launching high-impact digital products or experiences.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end product ownership, leadership, and judgment, including the ability to operate amid ambiguity, structure complex problems, develop a point of view, prioritize competing needs, make decisions with imperfect information, and drive work from strategy through execution.
  • Strong technical fluency and experience partnering closely with engineering teams; able to understand technical considerations and translate among business, customer, partner, and technology needs.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics, make clear recommendations, and build alignment across teams, senior leaders, and external partners.
  • Experience building relationships across organizational boundaries, collaborating with external partners, and navigating competing priorities.
  • Analytical rigor and experience using quantitative and qualitative insights to diagnose problems, evaluate opportunities, measure performance, and inform product decisions.
  • Highly customer-centric mindset and strong instincts for creating exceptional digital experiences, including willingness to challenge existing approaches when a better option exists.
  • Intellectual curiosity and systems thinking, with the ability to connect customer, technology, market, and business signals and turn them into actionable insights and product opportunities.
  • Adaptability and a test-and-learn mindset, including willingness to experiment, seek feedback, learn quickly, and adjust course as new information emerges.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
