About The Position

Artisan Studios is hiring a Senior Manager, Delivery for its Generative Orchestration practice. This senior delivery leadership role reports to the Director of Generative Orchestration and combines leadership of client engagements with development of the practice’s delivery methods and operating assets. The role may begin with direct responsibility for a new engagement and is intended to grow into broader practice leadership, including people leadership and ownership of the client delivery process. The Senior Manager leads engagements end to end, owns outcomes, manages delivery teams, and partners with client executives. The role sets readiness expectations before kickoff, makes and communicates business-facing decisions about AI-generated work and architecture, manages scope and trade-offs, and identifies delivery risks. It also builds and maintains practice playbooks, templates, readiness assessments, and standards for organizing engagement tools and materials. The Senior Manager coaches delivery professionals as they develop into orchestration and related roles, contributes to sales scoping and estimates, and helps define hiring standards and interview candidates. The position is suited to a delivery leader who has built delivery processes in ambiguous environments, communicates directly with clients, uses generative AI tools hands-on while verifying their output, and is interested in developing into practice leadership. Artisan is a remote-first consulting firm; quarterly travel may be required depending on client responsibilities. The role requires regular computer and software use, prolonged screen observation, and participation in virtual meetings and training.

Requirements

8+ years delivering software, data, or cloud projects, including 5+ years leading delivery teams and running several engagements at once.
Experience in a consulting or professional services company with accountability for client delivery, scope, and executive relationships.
A record of building delivery processes adopted across multiple teams or engagements, such as playbooks, templates, operating rhythms, or delivery standards.
Hands-on experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira or Confluence, including setting up tools for a team.
Daily, hands-on use of generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot in delivery work, with the judgment to verify and own their output.
Experience coaching project managers, scrum masters, or analysts.
Clear written and verbal communication with executives, clients, and engineers.

Nice To Haves

Experience delivering AI, machine learning, or agentic solutions for clients.
Working knowledge of AWS or experience in the AWS partner ecosystem.
Experience leading an organization through a change in its delivery approach, such as Agile, DevOps, or AI adoption.
Experience building agents, automations, or AI workflows that moved production work off a team.
PMP, SAFe, or AWS certification.

Responsibilities

Lead one or more client engagements end to end as the senior Orchestrator, owning outcomes, running delivery teams, and partnering with client executives.
Manage scope, readiness, and trade-offs with senior client stakeholders, addressing difficult issues early.
Confirm client decision authority, data and system access, governance, environments, and working agreements before kickoff.
Evaluate AI-generated output against client intent, provide business sign-off on architecture decisions with cost or risk implications, and maintain a decision log for the team and its agents.
Explain technical decisions to clients in plain language so engineers can focus on building.
Build and maintain delivery playbooks, templates, the Delivery Readiness Assessment, and standards for organizing Jira, Confluence, and shared drives across engagements.
Coach project managers, scrum masters, and analysts as they develop into Orchestrator, Strategy Analyst, and Acceptance Lead roles.
Identify delivery risk across engagements early and drive fixes with engineering and design leads.
Partner with sales and solutions architecture on scoping and estimates, clarifying what is in and out of scope.
Help define the practice’s hiring bar and interview delivery candidates.
