About The Position

The position reports to the Senior Director, Assistant Controller, and leads an established team of nine accounting professionals, including two direct-report managers and seven indirect reports. The Senior Manager oversees general accounting, accounts payable, billing, cashiering, financial reporting, and monthly and annual close processes. The role leads and develops the Fiscal Services and Accounts Payable teams; strengthens internal controls and compliance; supports audits; and works with Chancellor’s Office departments to provide responsive financial guidance and service. It also drives process improvements, technology adoption, automation, performance measurement, and data-driven reporting, and leads special projects in partnership with the Assistant Controller. The position has a hybrid schedule: three days onsite at the Long Beach Chancellor’s Office and two days remote. Wednesday is a required onsite day. The anticipated annual salary range is $125,000–$135,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
