As part of UCF's Technology Transfer Office, the Senior Licensing Associate position manages the transfer of physical science technologies from university into commercial sectors. Manages technology review, intellectual property (IP) legal protection, IP license negotiations, and IP promotion in media and at scientific and technology related events. This role manages the protection and licensing of a portion of the UCF Research Foundation IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights in physical sciences. The associate will draft and negotiate license agreements, material transfer agreements, inter-institutional agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. They will assess and evaluate new technologies, identify commercial uses, recommend legal protection, and ensure compliance with IP laws. Responsibilities also include reviewing and editing promotional materials, leading outreach for commercialization, and promoting technologies at conferences and to business communities. The role involves reviewing and negotiating IP terms for sponsored research, coordinating IP matters, and cultivating relationships with researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry partners. Additionally, the Senior Licensing Associate will supervise and train intellectual property specialists, licensing assistants, students, and interns, and conduct workshops and presentations on Technology Transfer matters.
