About The Position

As a senior engineer on FIS's Frontend Platform web team, you will build the foundation products teams use to create web experiences and the services behind that platform. The role spans multiple projects across the web platform and its supporting services. After onboarding, you will take complex problems from analysis through architecture and production with little direction, using AI coding tools as part of your everyday work. Success means helping product teams ship faster on the platform and helping engineers around you improve.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building production web applications with TypeScript and React, and comfort working across the stack, including backend services such as Node.js.
• Experience designing APIs and services, including data modeling, authentication, performance, and observability.
• A track record of architecting solutions to complex problems and picking up new technologies quickly.
• Comfort switching context across multiple projects and owning outcomes end to end.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a point of view on how they change engineering work.
• A humble approach while confidently sharing ideas and pushing back when it matters.
• A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in banking, payments, or financial services.
• Experience with AWS, containers, and CI/CD.
• Experience with headless CMS or content platforms.
• Experience with micro-frontends or module federation.
• Experience with design systems or component libraries.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices for regulated financial environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the web foundation used by product teams, including application shells, micro-frontends, routing, deployment, and release.
• Design, build, and operate supporting services such as APIs, content services, and backend-for-frontend layers.
• Take ambiguous and complex problems from analysis through architecture to production with little direction.
• Move between multiple projects as priorities shift and keep each project progressing.
• Bring forward proposals, constructively challenge ideas, and help the team reach decisions.
• Build rules, skills, and tooling that help AI coding agents produce consistent, secure code.
• Review code and mentor engineers, including designers who are new to shipping code.
• Partner with product teams to help them adopt the platform.
