About The Position

The Senior Lead Software Engineer will work on Frontend Platform's web team, building the foundation and services that product teams across FIS use to create web experiences. The role spans multiple projects across the web platform and its supporting services. After onboarding, the engineer will take complex problems from analysis through architecture and production with little direction, using AI coding tools as part of daily work. Success is measured by helping product teams ship faster and strengthening the engineers around them.

Requirements

Extensive experience building production web applications with TypeScript and React, and comfort working across the stack, including backend services such as Node.js.
Experience designing APIs and services, including data modeling, authentication, performance, and observability.
A track record of architecting solutions to complex problems and learning new technologies quickly.
Comfort switching context across multiple projects and owning outcomes end to end.
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a point of view on how they change engineering work.
Ability to share ideas and push back when it matters while remaining humble.
A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience in banking, payments, or financial services.
Experience with AWS, containers, and CI/CD.
Experience with headless CMS or content platforms.
Experience with micro-frontends or module federation.
Experience with design systems or component libraries.
Familiarity with secure software development practices for regulated financial environments.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve the web foundation used by product teams, including application shells, micro-frontends, routing, deployment, and release.
Design, build, and operate services that support the web platform, such as APIs, content services, and backend-for-frontend layers.
Take ambiguous, complex problems from analysis through architecture to production with little direction.
Move between multiple owned projects as priorities shift and keep each project progressing.
Bring forward proposals, challenge ideas constructively, and help the team reach decisions.
Build rules, skills, and tooling that help AI coding agents produce consistent, secure code.
Review code and mentor engineers, including designers who are new to shipping code.
Partner with product teams to help them adopt the platform.
