About The Position

Wake Forest University Health Sciences - Gerontology is seeking a full-time Senior Lead, Grants Administrator Analyst Senior. This role is responsible for managing grants and contracts coordination or management, including preparing proposals, developing budgets, and providing technical advice to investigators. The position also involves managing grants staff, coordinating subcontracts, and liaising with funding agencies and internal departments like the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. The Senior Lead will develop resources to assist investigators, maintain databases, manage progress reports, and oversee grant account transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with five years' experience in grants and contracts coordination or management; or, an equivalent combination education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread final proposals.
  • Provides expertise in developing budgets and preparing forms for the appropriate funding agencies.
  • Obtain information from the Office of Research and translate this into material appropriate for submission according to guidelines of each funding agency.
  • Manages the grants staff to ensure proposals and budgets are accurate.
  • Provides technical advice regarding administrative and financial aspects of proposals, budget, budget justification, subcontracting, indirect cost rates, fringe rates, etc. to investigators.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of guidelines of NIH, DOD, and numerous agencies.
  • Provides direction to investigators, collaborators, subcontractors, and others regarding requirements for proposals.
  • Creates, coordinates, and reviews complex subcontracts.
  • Serves as liaison with contract representatives to ensure all guidelines are met.
  • Coordinates Conflict of Interest correspondence.
  • Works with the Office of Research and others as necessary to complete accurate COI information and to ensure all guidelines and policies are followed.
  • Develops resources to assist multiple investigators in the preparation and submission of complex proposals and administration of awards.
  • Confers with the Office of Sponsored Programs, and research available databases such as Community of Science to identify the appropriate funding agencies for projects.
  • Identifies potential sponsors and programs for funding.
  • Communicates funding opportunity information to faculty.
  • Contacts appropriate personnel for coordinating funding.
  • Maintains a database of divisional bio sketches, departmental, divisional, center, and institutional resource pages and environment and training information to assist in preparation of training grants, contracts, program projects and other multi-departmental initiatives.
  • Manages the preparation of progress reports.
  • Functions as liaison with study sponsors; coordinate updates of grant information.
  • Prepares reports for administration regarding the scientific and financial growth of research activities and funding.
  • Oversees transactions for grant accounts.
  • Track research time and effort of study personnel.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.
