About The Position
Adaptive is a financial consulting firm partnering with capital, commodity, and digital market participants. The Senior Java Developer will design and develop Java applications and libraries, troubleshoot and debug applications, and contribute to code quality through code reviews and collaboration. The role involves working with distributed systems, messaging protocols, software libraries, testing, and performance measurement in a test-driven and Agile environment. Requirements
- Experience in Java server-side software development.
- Experience designing, building, debugging, and operating distributed systems.
- Experience designing and evolving messaging protocols.
- Experience designing and evolving software libraries.
- Experience applying different forms of testing to support software qualities such as correctness and performance.
- Experience measuring, benchmarking, and profiling components and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and share knowledge.
- Interest in learning and keeping up to date.
- Comfort working in a test-driven and Agile development fashion.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java applications and libraries.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Troubleshoot and debug Java applications to ensure smooth performance.
- Participate in code reviews to support code quality, maintainability, and reusability.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Java development.
