About The Position

Woodside Energy USA Services Inc. seeks a Senior HSE Advisor at our Houston, Texas location to be responsible for driving excellence in health, safety, and environmental performance across New Energy projects. This includes leading HSE strategy development, ensuring regulatory compliance, embedding a strong safety culture, and supporting operational readiness through assurance and risk management activities. Provide advice regarding HSE risk tolerability and ALARP demonstration and identify potential controls and mitigations for project construction, and operations. Coordinate the completion of HSE studies and plans, as and when required for each project phase. Ensure HSE permitting and HSE regulatory compliance of assigned projects. Provide HSE expertise, advice, and support for activities within the New Energy Team for projects related work and regulatory support. Support New Energy projects until investment decision and into execution. Deliver HSE requirements as per the IMF and WMS. Develop the HSE Management Plans as per the project progresses to the gates. Coordinate the completion of studies, HSE licensing and statutory permitting requirements and ensure the development of Environment Plans, as and when required. Obtain all HSE regulatory approvals, as applicable as per the project progresses to the gates. HSE input into Contractor Management and managing HSE in contracts. Ensure closure and decommissioning planning follow relevant HSE industry standards, HSE regulations, or applicable legislative requirements. Provide HSE Assurance Reviews as per each gate requirement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Management, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • Two (2) years involving design and execute HSE strategies for hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon-to-product projects across all development phases
  • Two (2) years involving leading HAZID, HAZOP, and ENVID workshops
  • Two (2) years involving ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations by securing permits and managing reporting requirements
  • Two (2) years involving monitoring contractor HSE performance through audits and alignment with corporate standards
  • Two (2) years involving conducting HSE audits and implemented lessons-learned programs
  • Two (2) years involving developing and testing emergency response plans, including SIMOPS coordination
  • Two (2) years involving collaborating with internal teams, joint venture partners, and external agencies to align HSE objectives
  • Two (2) years involving managing environmental planning and compliance, including SPCC, emissions control, and waste management
  • Two (2) years involving leading HSE integration during project execution
  • Two (2) years involving delivering HSE training and coaching to site leaders
