About The Position

Podtech Data Centre Inc, a member of the IREN Group, is seeking an HSE Advisor. IREN is a data centre business focused on renewable energy, building, owning, and operating data centres. They are committed to sustainable solutions for high-performance compute and positive community impact. The HSE Advisor will be responsible for field-based safety support and administrative coordination to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role involves promoting a strong safety culture, supporting regulatory compliance, training programs, incident investigations, document control, and HSE reporting. The ideal candidate will enjoy a balance of field and office work and be passionate about safety outcomes.

Requirements

  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, mining, energy, or data center environments.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations and occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • NCSO designation or working toward certification.
  • Occupational First Aid certification.
  • Incident investigation training.
  • Experience with contractor management programs.
  • Experience using SiteDocs or similar HSE management systems.
  • Experience supporting large industrial, construction, or critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
  • Participate in hazard assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Assist with contractor safety management and compliance monitoring.
  • Conduct and support employee and contractor safety orientations.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Promote safe work practices through coaching and employee engagement.
  • Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
  • Participate in site safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Maintain and manage HSE records, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Administer SiteDocs and other safety management platforms.
  • Upload, review, and maintain Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and Safe Job Procedures (SJPs).
  • Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding and orientation records.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance activities.
  • Prepare monthly HSE statistics, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain document control and version management of HSE procedures and programs.
