About The Position

IREN is seeking a highly motivated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to champion the health, safety, and environmental protection of employees across its data center operations. This role is critical in strengthening IREN’s safety culture by partnering with all departments to ensure regulatory compliance, identify and control workplace hazards, and proactively reduce risk before issues arise. IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or recognized professional certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of HSE experience in construction, utilities, electrical infrastructure, data centers, or industrial operations.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance principles, and industry best practices.
  • Track record of implementing or supporting structured HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in hazard identification, risk assessment, and recommending practical, high-impact controls.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability, with a consultative and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Solid understanding of construction and electrical infrastructure activities, including permit-to-work, LOTO, and high-risk task management.
  • Ability to execute plans and hold teams accountable to defined performance outcomes.
  • Results-driven mindset with a sense of urgency and willingness to challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with software platforms for compliance tracking, incident management, training, and reporting.
  • Ability to travel periodically in support of IREN’s network of regional data centers and prospective U.S. sites.
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and continuously improve the HSE Management System, ensuring processes are practical, risk-based, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture, driving continuous improvement across a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional organization.
  • Conduct regular HSE risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and facility inspections to ensure safe work environments and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform routine audits of safety, environmental programs, and operational activities to verify compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and IREN policy.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of leading and lagging indicators, using data to influence decisions and drive measurable improvements.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development; communicate learnings across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Site HSE Manager to set, monitor, and achieve annual health, safety, and training objectives.
  • Support pre-task planning, JHAs, and high-risk work activities including LOTO, confined space, hot work, and energized work protocols.
  • Provide coaching and safety leadership to employees, contractors, and new hires through toolbox talks, training sessions, and onboarding programs.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, including drills, response coordination, and continuous improvement of emergency plans.
