About The Position

ATCO Frontec is seeking an on-site Health, Safety, Environment, And Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our Camp Services team at Jansen Discovery Lodge, in Jansen, SK. The HSEQ Advisor is responsible for planning organizing, coordinating, coaching, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the HSEQ Management Program overall for the lodge. They are a key member of a multi-disciplinary team and assist in the mitigation and management of HSE risks.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Health and Safety is required.
  • CRSP Designation or scheduled to complete designation
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in Health and Safety is required.
  • Possess a logical, methodical approach to his/her work and must be accurate when taking measurements and recording figures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak and write French would be considered an asset.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OHS cultural turn arounds; specifically in remote locations considered an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of health, safety and environment management systems are an asset
  • HSE data input, analysis, and report generation/manipulation skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Completing regular site audits, providing staff training and overall stewardship of the HSEQ program.
  • Consulting staff and setting work standards in accordance with ATCO’s Safety Standards.
  • Developing, implementing, reviewing and updating company procedures, manuals and other HSE documentation as required.
  • Completing work site inspections, evaluate workplace procedures, complete job and workplace hazard analysis as well as develop work site procedures.
  • Managing and conducting site inspections and audit programs.
  • Following up to ensure closure of corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assisting in the processing, tracking, recording and reporting of accidents and incident data (e.g. total reportable injury rate, lost time injury rate, etc.).
  • Instructing and coaching site and by extension Frontec on the importance of HSEQ related responsibilities as defined by Company policy, as well as federal and provincial regulations.
  • Monitoring and tracking changes and updates in HSEQ legislation.
  • Managing the site ERP program, from annual updates to mock and tabletop drills.
  • Compiling data and assisting in the preparation of periodic KPI reporting and all HSE reports.
